Around these parts in North Texas, folks tend to measure a good meal by how high the smoked meat is piled or how much gravy is slathered across the plate. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a good barbecue joint as much as the next guy, but every now and then, my wife and I like to dust off our nice clothes for a proper date night. When that mood strikes, there’s only one place downtown we head for: Hannah’s Off the Square. It’s tucked just a stone’s throw from the historic courthouse, serving up food that feels fancy without making you feel like you need a secret password just to read the menu. We had been meaning to get back there for a while, and the moment we stepped inside, it felt like visiting old friends. Things got off to a flying start when we were shown to our table and saw a familiar face: Kyle. He was our server the last time we came by, and having him back at our table was an absolute treat. Kyle isn’t just somebody who writes down your order; he’s a entertainer, a neighborhood pal, and an absolute menu wizard all rolled into one. He chatted with us like no time had passed, cracked a few good jokes, and steered us toward a bottle of Martin Woods Chardonnay from the Willa

Amazing food and atmosphere, our server Kyle was very helpful and professional. I suggest the scallops and steak. Their cocktails and mocktails are super tasty as well. If you are in Denton you gotta check this place out!

Hannah's was the perfect choice for an anniversary celebration in Denton! Our server Jackie was excellent and we really appreciated the little touches that made our night extra special, like the rose petals and the complimentary dessert. Expect to spend $40 - $70 per person, depending on your entree (not including appetizers or drinks).

I visited Hannah’s Off the Square for the very first time last evening, and I already know it won’t be my last. Kyle was my server, and he truly went above and beyond. He was exceptionally attentive, helpful, and accommodating, and he made the entire experience feel warm and welcoming from start to finish. I always enjoy supporting established local businesses that create meaningful experiences for their guests, and this was exactly that. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

This place is incredible, from the ambiance to the delicious food and exceptional service. I can’t rave enough about this place. The pomme firtes are huge, the rotating menu has really interesting items like Ostrich and Opah fish, sadly their menu was about to rotate so those gems were being phased out but the items we did order were superb. I ordered a pistachio crusted lamb and made a substitution and an addition. For desert we tried their award winning carrot cake and 2 house made ice cream flavors which were just mouthwatering. Fantastic all around!
